A friend called me this morning. He was on his way to work and saw a large crowd of people on the road and they were all looking up at the sky. My friend is one of those movie buffs and this made him very nervous so he called me to see if I knew anything about it. He thought it could be a giant asteroid about to hit the Earth and the government has been covering it up until the last minute to stop social chaos. Well I turned on the TV and no, it wasn’t an asteroid about to annihilate our planet but an arrival of the space shuttle Discovery to the Dulles Airport. The shuttle is retiring and is going to be a permanent exhibit at the Smithsonian Air and Space museum located at the southern end of the Dulles Airport runway. When he called me, the NASA Boeing 747 and the Space Shuttle on top was making its final approach. I grabbed my camera and waited outside hoping the Shuttle would fly over my neighborhood and yes it did.
